This month’s philatelic exhibit in the St. Martin Library is in conjunction with Veterans Day, November 11th. This exhibit contains what are called “Patriotic Covers”. The covers have illustrations on the left side of the envelope depicting support for our troops. You will find the flip-folder with these covers on the counter of the large display case as you enter the library.
The Gulf Coast Stamp Club frequently meets at the St. Martin Library. Their next meeting is on Saturday, November 4 in our meeting room at 1:30pm. If you have questions about stamp collecting, postcard collecting or about a collection you may have inherited, they can help you. (Note: They cannot give you an exact monetary value but they can let you know if your collection contains valuable stamps and/or covers and if it needs further investigation). Guests and kids are always welcome.
Yesterday we celebrated the last day of National Stamp Collecting Month and Halloween. Esbelia and I greeted the trick-or-treaters with candy and a Taste of Topicals. To my surprise, even Santa Claus showed up.
We enjoyed interacting with the families and look forward to adding a stamp display next year and a couple of extra bags of candy.
